1993 Suburban HIGH MILES help!!
There is this 1993 GMC Suburban SLE for 1800 bucks. It has a 5.7L V8. It has 359,000 miles on it, but it runs fine. The owner says that he has not been good at keeping the oil changed. The interior needs some work and it could use a paint job. Its rusted through the body in one spot but no other big rust problems. The frame is very clean also. The alternator is bad but it runs fine. This would be my first car and my Dad and I would do all of the body work on it, we would just have to have somebody paint it because he says he's not too good at it. I'm not sure if I should get it or not because i'm afraid i'm gonna looses money. I'm figuring to put about 1500 into it after I buy it. What do you think? Please help!!!

Re: 1993 Suburban HIGH MILES help!!
Probably a great first rig!! Certainly cheap enough.
Guess you should be told the awful truth though.........people ALWAYS lose money on their rigs.........that just part of the charm |

Your kidding, right?
Don't do it. That is way more headache than you need for your first ride. You know you will be cruis'n. You'll spend $50 on gas a week. Unless you are buying it for the "big back seat," it doesn't make a lick of sense. For a good car for the money, meaning speed, looks, reliability, mileage, look at a '90-'93 Eagle Talon. You'll spend about 1,800 and have a turbo to boot. Look at item 2458957468 on Ebay. It's a '90 talon tsi, turbo with only 80k on it. It has a day and a half left on auction with no reserve and the current winning bid is less than $800. It's located in Florida, but wouldn't that be a cool roadtrip with your dad? Don't do the Chevy, dude. Marc
