Big Question. My boyfriends parking brake went out on his 85 camaro just today and I wanted to know what would cause it to d so. Any ideas?

Re: Parking Brake

what do you mean by "went out"????? like, you pull it up, it clicks into place, but the car wont sit still, or the handle just flops up and down loosley without any resistance. or does it not go back down after you pull it up. gotta be more specific for any real worthwhile help.

Re: Parking Brake

It locks into place so the car wont sit still. His father said something about tracking I think. I might have hear wrong.

And when he says parking brake I believe he is talking about how when he shifts into park that it doesn't stay.

Re: Parking Brake

it's good to know that you figured out the problem, but still, if your boyfriend is having parking brake problems in the first place, then maybe he just isn't the right one for you, perhaps you need to look for a new man who doesn't have parking brake problems...ever. and for whatever it's worth, my parking brake always has, and always will, work perfectly fine.
