Question Which one?

I want to buy a Civic hatchback, but I'm having trouble deciding what to buy. Should I get a 92-93 and put in a B16 or B18? Or should I get a 94-95 and put in a different engine? I'm a big Civic fan, but I'm still learning the ropes. Please help me!

Re: Which one?

I want to race this car and I've got a few thousand to spend right now. I will be saving more money, though. (I know the body is the same, but is the engine different???)

Re: Which one?

it's only different between each model (Si, DX, VX, CX). The CX and VX are the lightest, but also come with the slowest engines stock; 70hp and 92hp respectively. If you need anymore differences, do a search I know for a fact there are a few threads about it (I know because I've posted in them).

Re: Which one?

because thats what im doing, duh! lol jk, actually, i chose it beacuse is has lower compression than the type r (b18c5) (Better for turbo), and its Vtech (i know some people think a non vtech is better for turbo, but my personal belief is with the right turbo cam, the vtech feature will help), and its bigger than the b16 (obviously better for turbo) I know some people will disagree with what im sayin, but this is what i gathered by doin research, and it cant hurt to do some reseach og your own.

Re: Which one?

yeah like research on how to spell VTEC (no H)
But with a GSR, you can't boost as much on the stock internals as you would be able to with the LS motor. And the LS already has a little more torque than the GSR does.

Re: Which one?

well, im not sure about that, ive heard the gsr can handle about the same. But if hes goin to internal work, that is where the GSR will shine. (Again, my personal opinion)

Re: Which one?

no the GSR can not handle as much boost on stock internals, I don't know where you heard that but it's wrong. But yes if he did new internals in a GSR it would be better than a stock internal LS.

ouch, got me there CivicSpoon , now can u tell me why u cant, because its my understanding the b18b and b18c1 are virtually the same except V-TEC (no H). lol
