My FC FD in Action

I finally got a website up and running so I can host all the vids we have of our cars. Here are a couple I thought you would like.

This first one is my FC getting the Fastest Time of the day (FTD) at a local Autocross. My friend played with som evideo editing software and overlayed the outside trackside vid in a window w/ the in car vid.

In this race I ran 245/45/16 Victoracers on all 4 corners. My Caster is set a 6° add to that a tire pressure around 25 lbs and you'll see I have my hands full on this course designed for low power FWD cars.

Please Right click and save:
Palm Bay FTD

This next Vid is A Sebring Florida. Every June we get to close down the Straightaway and run an event there. This year I was toppin gout 3rd gear in sections = 110 MPH+.

Sebring

Re: My FC FD in Action

Here is a quick clip of me doing a flybye on the Interstate. We had a pack of 4 RX-7's tearing it up late one night. My friend decided to tape my flamage on decel.

Re: My FC FD in Action

Car is legal in BP but I refuse to strip it down to be competative nationally. I refuse to let the SCCA dictate what cars I buy or how I mod them. (hence the totally uncompetative ASP Mini Cooper) If my car does not fit in a class oh well. I own my car first race it in the scca last.

I was planning on attending the SoloII tour in Ft. Meyers in 2 weeks. I am registered and will be up against Richard Beecher with his Porsche 944 Turbo. He has a ton of money in that car. Rumor has it he spent 3 days on the dyno and has over 400RWHP. He alsd runs 12" slicks. I would have to cut my fenders to run 12" slicks so I run 10" slicks and they barely fit.

The only problem is I blew my knee out and I am going in for orthoscopic (SP?) surgery Monday. I might be back on my feet in 3 days or 30 days we will know Monday when they look inside.

I am thinking of heading to Indianapolis for the Rotary Revolution in April/May instead of the National tour.

I really dont like the SCCA much lately.

Re: My FC FD in Action

BTW - The Sebring run was my second Autocross ever. I was running street tires and stock suspension. Its not very impressive.

This is a more recent one where I am running my slicks for the first time. Its about 25 meg. Please right click.

Re: My FC FD in Action

bummer about the knee. lucky BP car... my mr2 is a required StreetMod2... that's stompage. but then again, so is my ES FC, those damn miatas and n/a mr2's!

ah yes, and as a side note... beecher didn't do too hot at the national champ event. 4th place, after two rx7's and a corvette. (6 seconds out of first...)

still, very impressive. but i dunno, i guess i'm lucky (or unlucky... u choose) i'm in the central AZ region, so i've got a bunch of national champs to get whooped by.

well, best of luck with the knee! hope u can get back to driving soon.

Re: My FC FD in Action

I wasa suprised also to see a poor outing by David Mclevell (SP????) he owns a Robin Egg colored Cobra.
He was ripping apart the southeast in that cobra. I was expecting big things from him at the nationals. I think the rain really messed up a lot of people.

My brother used to run a 87 GXL in CSP against the MR2 Spiders and they were too fast to catch. It was frustrating. I feel your pain. We were toying with putting a street ported fresh engine into the GXL and really taking them on. Right now it puts 120 to the wheels the engine has seen better days. We figure if we could get about 180-190 to the wheels and do a good weight reduction we might catch them.

Hope Beecher doesnt see this. He came to an event to "practice" here.

He went straight up to the timing trailer and told them my car belonged in BP not ASP. My 1st engine was on its way out and I had a boost controler on it to keep it from spiking on boost.

I had 225 RWHP at the time he had his 400 HP Porsche. (BTW he was running 18x12 rims on his Porsche hmmmm.... not legal in BP)

I whipped him something bad that day and was sure he was going to whoop me just by looking at the cars side by side. My car even has a bazooka tube in it that I refuse to pull out. Its my good luck charm.

I was suprised as hell I beat him especially after I was told before the event he was a Natl. champ in SS.

I took 3rd place in Miami at the Mazda Rev-It-Up. That was after only 10 months of Autocrossing. I decided if I want to prove I am a good driver I will continue to do so at the future rev-it-up events.

Same car, same course, no excuses. No one has an advantage. Its all driver. Autocross its the guy w/ the most money that has the advantage from the start.
Driver is a factor but car becomes a major factor in the SCCA.

Mazda is doing it again this year with the Mazda3. Being as how I now have a FWD car to practice with I hope to win a city this year. I have 3 near me, Miami, Tampa and Atlanta.

autocross is way too much fun. unfortuately, i've only been able to go to like 3 events, and i don't really have a car that can do well. i says i own a 93 rx on my profile, but that's just a dream car... yeah, i took the ranger out a few times, didn't do too bad. came in 44th out of 78. beat an RX-8, the guy was an idiot, and a lexus is300. they also had dry runs, mine were in the rain... woo hoo. but yeah, nice videos for sure.
