Question Service Vehicle Soon light

My Service Vehicle Soon light came on the other day and sure enough I noticed that one of my headlights were blown.

Now, if I go ahead and replace the light bulb myself, do I still have to take my car into the dealership to have the Service Vehicle light reset or will it automatically reset when it senses the new bulb?

I really do not want to take the car in as the service guys don't know thier a** from a hole in the ground and I don't want them charging me for stupid stuff....

I had a similar problem on my '96 GA. Light came on due to a loose gas cap, stayed on even after I fixed that. If the light stays on it can be reset by just disconnecting the battery for a second or two. I also have a 00 GA and for that model I was able to reset with the reset button by the fuse box though you will need to read your owner's manual to find out exactly how to do it.

Re: Service Vehicle Soon light

Unless it is your O 2 sensor...i think that might be what it is...good luck with that.

OK guys, read the original post carefully..he is complaining about a Service VEHICLE Soon Light..not a Service ENGINE Soon Light

A Service Vehicle Soon Light indicates a fault with the SAFETY systems of your vehicle..Usually a burned out headlamp will turn on the light..
Replacing the affected bulb will cause the light to reset.

A Service Engine Soon light indicates a fault in the emissions system or a PCM controled device...a loose gas cap or faulty O2 sensor will illuminate this light.
