Might be a new owner soon.

Hi guys. I've been getting some info from Ahmed (TOPRPM) and if everything works out, I'll be a proud owner of a 850HP GTR running with Greddy TT (all on pump gas) I'm shooting for March since the winter should be over here in the US. If everything goes as planned and I decide to go through, I'll be heading to Dubai, UAE. Anyhow, I wanted to ask some of you if you can do me a favor and post THE BEST looking skyline GTR you have ever seen. I am attaching a pic of my favorite. Also, how do you guys think a 850HP GTR on pump gas would do against a heavily modified street supra? It is somewhat a vague question, but I'm just interested in what kind of meat I will be able to eat

BTW, that's not me in the picture.

hmmmm a 850hp skyline. lets say if a stock 320hp skyline can do 0-60 in 4.7 secs. and quater miles in low 13's to high 12's. then i guess something was 1.5 times the horse power will pretty much kill any Italian exotic, and kill any supra, since they have a hard to puttin power to the ground, plus theire trannys aren't up to that kind of punishment. sooo the only things that you would be worried about would be the old school american muscles from before the 70's. since they don't need to pass any emissions test.

Cheaper than through motorex? Let's just say it should be like getting the car for free compared to motorex. They have some sickening and ridiculous pricing. 92K for a new GTR? What?!?!??!? That's without any performance mods.

Dubai Cars

Just be careful.

Many Dubai cars are stolen from Japan, which is why they are so cheap.

You might buy the car and find a year later a man arrives from a Japanese Insurance Company with proof of original ownership and bye-bye you've lost your car. It has happened many times to UK owners who bought 'cheap' GTRs from or via the Middle East.

This is not BS. I just don't want you US guys to get burnt by the same tricks that hit the English market when we started with GTRs.

Ask for the original Japanese documentation and the de-registration certificate and auction sheet or dealer invoice.

See the following BBC news item:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/...00/1456337.stm

Good luck

UK Owner.

But is it going to be legal, and if so, then how come these guys arent giving direct and fierce competition to MotoRex? How did they get it legal? How much are we talking about? And if this isnt a deal like UK Owner described, where can I get one?

I thought you could import them but only for use as drag/SCCA/other sorts of race cars?
