Couple 3000GT questions?

Well I have been wanting to get a 97 Eclipse GST for months but my parents had a bad feeling about the one I wanted. They found me a 94 3000GT SL and kind of won me over. Im getting it tommorow and I had a few questions.

1)This is much heavier than the GST but it only has 10 more HP, Would it lose by much if raced against a stock GST?

2)Do they make Turbo Kits for the SL or do you have to strip the TT of a VR4 and use that?

3)Do they make Euro/Altezza taillights for 3000GT?

Thanks in advance

you will prolly lose to a gst

custom turbos kits have been made, but most people steal the TT off a vr4

no euro or altezzas for the 3000gt

Good deal man. She looks good. Please don't get those altezzas. The car is beautiful without them. Save the money for some "go fast" mods. PLEASE!

Re: Couple 3000GT questions?

Apparently they dont make altezza for 3000gt anyways, so thats what I will be doing. The car stock looks amazing, its one of the few that looks better stock than it does with bodykit and shit. What are some good first speed mods? Im guessing air intake and some other stuff.

Sweet car. You got rims like mine, but mine are chromified. As for the GS-T vs the SL, it would basically come down to driver, and whether one of you was an automatic or not. I raced one and beat it by about 1/2 car length in my 95 SL. A lot of it really depends on your launch and how well you can get top performance out of your car. Which is hard to do But yeah, these cars look great stock. They have a really exotic look to them (at least up here in Canada where they aren't too many of them) so you really dont have to put much money into aesthetic mods. But as for primary mods... Cold air intake is good, same with headers. You can go with a lightened flywheel, and a LSD. A lot of people say to start with suspension mods. 'Cause since they're FWD, they're a little unstable sometimes. Oh and just for interest sake, is yours a 5 spd or an auto? God I talk too much...

Re: Couple 3000GT questions?

Thanks for feedback, its a 5 speed mtx. I have been admiring this car every night and realized it doesnt need body mods to look good. I think im going to do clear corners and leave it at that. I was considering lowering it but its so low stock that I wouldnt be able to go over a speed bump without getting stuck. As for there not being many of them, I have only seen 2 others in my town and I know both people that own them lol. My first mods will be K&N Intake, Test Pipe, Downpipe and Exhaust and im hoping this will put me into the mid/high 14's range, well im praying atleast.

They'll deffinately put you into the 14's. I'm pretty sure that stock these cars run 15.0 or 15.1. But yeah, just a question about your tranny. Do you have any probs shifting into 3rd gear? 'Cause with mine, I have problems shifting into 3rd sometimes, and mine is only at 70 000 miles

Man I dunno about anyone else, but I think those are ugly as sin. Makes the car look cheap and... space-like. Plus on anything but a white car, those would stick out so bad.

Wrong, they are made by Kaze, along with those nasty body kits.
