The ultimate nonturbo max??

What do you guys think of this combination on the 95-99 max?

Cold Air Intake, Y-pipe, RandomTech Cat, B-Pipe, JWT ECU, MEVI, and JWT performance cams, and a stage II VB mod (Auto)? I think that this is the closest to supercharging your max without actually doing it. Do you think that this combo would get you running high 14's?? What kind of wheel horsepower numbers do you think you'd get? Trying to mod my max up without getting the supercharger because I've heard stillen has issues with it. I also heard that lightening you wheels by 1 pound is like taking 8lbs of curb weight off the vehicle. Some really light 17's would be really nice. But then again...if you put a SC on a car that had all these mods....YOU'd HAUL serious A$$!!!

breaking into the 14's would be a cinch with those mods. i think the ECU is what would put you over the top.

Re: The ultimate nonturbo max??

You'd be in the 14s with that stuff for sure. Instead of the VB mod, maybe consider a 5 speed swap? That'll probably end up being a little quicker. I know your post was titled "ultimate nonturbo max", and I've heard about the reliability issues of the supercharger, but what about a turbo? I've heard the turbo kit makes more hp and is more reliable than the stillen sc. Even without boost or a 5 speed, that'll still be a really fast setup.

By the way, 89Turbo944, sweet Z.

Re: The ultimate nonturbo max??

Those mods run you into low 14's easily.
Ceasar doesn't have a MEVI and he runs 14.2 most of time, so imagine what he could do with a MEVI and his car is pretty much set up the same except he has the Technosquare ECU.

Don't do a CAI

Do a Frankencar hybrid popcharger intake instead. You will get better flow and more HP. Heat soak of the long CAI intake pipe and the amount of power needed to suck air down a longer tube offset any advantage to pulling in cooler air first.

Re: The ultimate nonturbo max??

4th gen maxima's with CAI's lose hp where it's most needed, in the top end. all that piping makes you lose it. i wouldn't get a CAI without a MEVI.

Does a CAI increase torque?

NICE Setup!!! I wish I had money for all of that though... Especially for the cams and the MEVI, those are the most expensive to buy and install

My current setup is Warpspeed Y-pipe and B-pipe, Custom straight pipe, Magnaflow Muffler, "HAI" (Hot Air Intake jeje) and a JWT ECU.

I'm expecting a 15.7 or 15.8 o the 1/4 mile since my stock time was 16.2

My next mod (when I lower my credit card debts jeje) would be the Unorthodox pulley. What do you guys think about that setup for me being a low budget College student and my Max having an auto transmission ??

Any suggestions?? They would be greatly appreciated.

With all those mods, you should be breaking into the low 15's, shouldn't you?

well maybe but I don't want to raise my expectations too much. Additionally from my car being an automatic and it having 17's inch wheels, here in PR our times are a bit higher than it would be in the US because of the different temperatures and climate stuff.

A Stock Auto transmission Max is supposed to be in it's high 15's, but mine over here did 16.2 . So because of the bigger wheels and climate difference I'd expect high 15's for my Max

Opinions anyone? Really just let me know what you think of my situation.
