Hey all i have a p10 primera which is pretty standard. Only the SR18Di engine in and was wondering if converting to the SR20VE was a straight swap?

As far as motor mounts are concerned, yes. But engine management could be quite a headache. Although most of that can be probably cured if you get a complete harness and ECU with the engine.

Yeah was going to get a new ECU didnt think the old one would handle the job too well

The old one won't handle the job at all (meaning the one you have in your car now). If you're not planning to modify the VE, then a stock VE ECU will work just fine. IF you want to modify it right away, then look for alternatives.
Personally I'd prefer an SR20DET in place of my SR20Di, but if you want a VE, that's your choice.
