Angry Wet Floors (locks won't work)

2000 Passat GLX

Anyone have strange leak into carpets ( driver side and behind )?

My locks won't work, my comfort controll module is burned, my CD changer burned out, brake light went out, light on dash vent is out!!

Dealer had no clue where the water would be coming from. Any help would be appreciated as I'm looking at over $2000 to fix.

Thanks!

Re: Wet Floors (locks won't work)

i had this problem not too long ago. there's a hole in the battery tray that gets clogged (leaves, dirt, etc) and this causes the tray to fill and spill onto the cabin floor. my front passenger footwell was totally sopped. vw has made a design flaw here since i've heard others say they've had your problems; there are some electrical controls under the panel that short b/c of the water. i cleaned out the hole on the battery tray, the floor dried and i haven't had a problem (yet).

Re: Re: Wet Floors (locks won't work)

Thanks! I checked the well under the batter and it appears pretty clear, nothing blocking the small drain hole.

Decided to trade in. Getting a house, kids in couple of years, so decided on a Toyota 4Runner. Can't wait to get it. Loved the passat, not ready to spend thousands to keep it another year or two.

Thank you again!
