update on torsion bars

i have a 2000 Silverado LS 2500 Heavy Duty 6.0 2wd and long bed. i went to have my torsion bars raised and low and behold...i dont have any. The guy at the shop told me that it wasnt meant to sit level because it is 3/4 ton and it is made to haul and when you have a load it would sit level. i told him im glad he didnt work on my truck because he is a frickin idiot. BTW i haul often, almost 2 rick of split wood was in my bed and it didnt squat a bit, i pulled a 24 camper trailer and didnt notice any squat, and i had my tractor with front end loader and box blade pplus weights on a all steel flatbed 18 ft trailer and still no squat. somebody suggested i take a leaf out but i like the rear height and the way the suspension is set up for pulling. plus i have stock tire size on the front and when i turn sometimes the tires rub on my plastic under my bumper.
So, has anybody tried the coil spring spacers? do they come out? anything good or bad about these? i know of a few people that use them and have had no problems for years now. any input would be appreciated.

i have tried the locking coil spring spacers (springs too thick) coil spring plate spacer (spring wont compress enough, too thick) and went to have a leveling kit installed but they dont make one for my model! so now i am forced to have to put a lift on my truck (at least thats what i told my fiance) im looking at 3"but i want my truck to sit level. i have done 3 body lifts (89 S-10, 91 Isuzu Amigo, 88 Isuzu Trooper) and 2 suspension lifts (89 S-10, 89 GMC 1500) i can get the 3" for $340. would it be that much harder doing it on mine or should i fork out the grand and get it done by the pros? has anybody lifted their truck themselves? was it an HD? does anybody know of a better price? thanks for your help

THe nice thing about the 2500's are that they do sit higher then the ahlf ton, but that is suprising that there is no torsion bars. I would probably just leave it stock especially if you haul.

Aren't the torsion bars only in 4wd trucks?

i guess on the newer ones. i have had torsoin bars on 2wd vehicles before.
