Re: loosing weight
Not much dude! Rear seats weight less then 20 lb, air box removed??? You don’t do that for weight saving, you do that for better airflow!
Aluminum exhaust will save you some weight, proximally 10 lb depends if the exhaust has a resonator or not. The only thing that will save you weight is the sound dampening stuff, that is about 50 lb right there. I have the same car and I have HKS high flow cate-back exhaust, down pipe, intake, and no sound damp. Removing the rear seats is not for every one, will get the cops attention and you will not be able to carry more then one passenger in the car… Good luck! |

Re: loosing weight
Because you are advertising to the world that you’re modified! Especially when you get pulled over, you give them the impression of a “racer”.

Re: loosing weight
I don't buy the backseat thing... now if you have a bunch of gauges and a big exhaust then it might make a difference... but no backseats... come on now

"what the hell? no passengers seat and no interior?" hehe. anyways the tow truck came about 30 sec later. thank god i had the carpet in, i was planning on removing it too. back on topic, rear seats are 20 lbs, jack 10 lbs, spare 35 lbs, air box (haha... 1 lb?). hmm.. get a lighter battery (http://www.surplusev.com/ all the way at the bottom - im getting one in a few days), throw out your fat girlfriend (200+ lbs), ditch the passenger seat (60 lbs), forget about the chrome rims - get some 11 lb 16"s, throw out the system, then start getting plexiglass windshield and glass all the way around (100+ lbs), carbon fiber hood (20 lbs), get rid of your front lip and spoiler (30 lbs), aluminum body (500 lbs), lightweight exhaust (30 lbs). there ya go... 1000+ lbs less than you had before. start racing the enzo.

I heard that removing the automatic seat belt assembly(including motor ) relieves you of 30lbs per door .

BTW in my 240 fastback. Removing the backseats helped me. Not reducing weight but being able to see out the back window. The back seats block 1/2 my window and can't see. Plus the back seats were not functional no one could sit in the back at all. |
