Aftermarket ACC Problem

Ok, I installed a new head unit but it doesn't have ACC line in the connector from the car to the harness meaning I have to turn it off every time I get out. Does anybody know a way to get the 12v somehow??

I have a low end 2000, its more like a 99 it doesn't have any fancy stuff on it just a different body.

Doesn't have that amp in the back that they tried to sell me for $30 after I told them that I didn't have one and they said well try it and then if it still doesn't work bring it back, we were back there pretty quickly and the person who knew he was right didn't talk to us again any how any help would be nice

Re: Aftermarket ACC Problem

you will have to locate the wire that has 12v when the key is off, using a voltmeter..dont use a testlight..also it might be in the service manual..check it and see if there is any wiring diagram for the radio...

Re: Aftermarket ACC Problem

Ok thank you, I used from cig lighter at first (thought it ran from accessory and was correct in voltimeter 12v on and 0.00v off with door open), This failed when I opened the door. Somebody mentioned that it used data to send the signal to turn off instead of power which means I needed to buy a switching power supply... Guess who that was the owner of that crappy company.
