ok right now i have an xterra and im sick of it so im going to get a car im either going to get a 95' supra or a 97' 240sx im really leaning toward the 240 because i love nissans. But if i decide to get the 240 im going to do an engine swap on it asap, so i was just wondering if you would reccomend a sr20 or a rb25 from your experiences?

check out the search for the engines also I believe it is in the FAQ too. It depends on what you would like to do with the car. Also, I prefer you to wait and save money before you just go up and swap....blow the engine first, or fix any problems or soon-to-be problems before replacing things that isn't broken.

it's all preference. They both have their distinct qualities and pros and cons. It's like choosing between an apple and an orange. Do some research and figure out which one fits you most. Good luck

Here are your scenarios when you go to the track

With the 240:

Civic will beat you(even a B16 can take you)
Mustang 5.0 will embaress you

With the Supra(assuming its turbo)
You will rape the Civic
It will be a close call between the stang and Supra.

Honestly, if you want a fast ass car, get a 5.0 but it seems your still stuck in the immature "domestics are crap" mindset.

You do realize by the time you did all that shit to an S14, you could have had a Supra, maybe even a BPU for it. What difference does it make. You spend 25 totalgrand on making your s14 fast, or 20grand on a supra, 5grand on a BPU that will give you a nice boost, plus tons of daily driver comforts.

eh Dorikin most mustang 5.0's are slow as balls. i can take them out easy, and i can take out mustang GT's. so why would a supra TT ( a car that puts down close to 290whp) be close to a car that run's a high 14 stock? and a low 14 when equipt with bolt ons? the supra can run a 13 flat stock at almost 109mph. that is faster then almost any mustang besides the super charged cobras. and can take out most stock F bodies. you should know that the supra is a beast of a import car.

and the money you put in your 240 to swap in the RB25, the civic could do a swap and boost it. around sea level a 6th gen civic coupeEX full interior, nothing taken out wiht a fat guy driving runs flat 14's wiht a NA ITR swap with I/H/E. he had 16's too, not sure what type though, maybe hella light ones, still.
and if money is no object you wouldnt start out with a 240, or if you do why not swap in the RB26DETT and all the AWD shit, the company (unstablehybrid or unusual hybrid or something like that) was working on the awd swap a while ago, maybe they got it down now and could do it for you, of course it would cost a bunch, but you dont have to worry, your only 16 and already own a business.
