Hi i need some help I have a 1998 Chevy 5.7 pick up took out CKP because leaking oil. The o ring was smashed replace o ring put CKP back in turns over will not fire. Code 336 comes up when tesred. Replaced CKP and pigtail connector just to be sure no broken wires . Truck still turns over but will not fire ran all the test i could everything test good but same code and will not fire

Did it run before you removed the crank sensor?

the CKP can be hard to seat in the engine properly if not in the exact position it will not run correctly . try to place into this exactly as it was..... disconnect the negative to the battery to make the PCM start from the factory set points . if not fixing it , then may need to be programmed by a GM dealership with the proper diagnostic programmer tool. forgot PUT THE OLD ckp BACK IN !!!!!!!
