This is 99 camry LE and it's got 150k miles on it. All of a sudden the CEL came on. I took the car to Autozone and had it scanned and the following code came up.
The error on the reader was "P1130, Too lean, controlling fuel air metering" Any help or suggestions on what to look for it's greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance! |

Re: Check Engine Light
A/F Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 Sensor 1).
This is a malfunction of O2 or Fuel/Air ratio sensor. Find out what type of sensor you have and replace it. IF you have a California-emissions car, you probably have an A/F ratio sensor. Other cars usually have an O2 sensor. Better make sure though. If you have a V6, the heated O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 is on the right hand exhaust manifold (rear firewall side). 4cyl is front near radiator. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h37.pdf http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h44.pdf |

Thanks for your help guys. What I did was remove the O2 sensors and cleaned them with a wire brush and damp cloth. I also diconnected the battery to reset the CEL. This must have worked because the CEL hasn't come back on. I checked the dealer price on the O2 sensors and they cost about $100- $300 . Once again thanks for your help.
