Is the R33 any good? and i got another Q

Is the R33 any good?

And if i were to find a skyline at a salvage yard (When Pigs Fly) and fix it would it be legal to drive in the U.S?

Re: Is the R33 any good? and i got another Q

the r33 is very good, same with the 32 and 34
(sorry, not a fan of the older school skylines)

and no, as much as the fast and the furious may have enlightened you on getting a skyline in the US (BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA), and if you DO find one in the US unless you legalize it through motorex, you're gonna be a prison bitch.

Nothing wrong with an R33.

Only if it has been legalized first.

Re: Is the R33 any good? and i got another Q

let me give you a rundown. When the GTR first cameout in the 70s it was a good fast car. in 84 of the R30 It was good too and it is rare in 86 the R31 came out and it is also very rare. in 89 the R32 came out and it is a very good car and it is my second favorite. (like the taillights) and then came the R33 in 94. It is a very good car. Then came the R34 in 99 and that thing can smoke a viper.

waht im ttrying to say is that the R33 is good but the R34 is better.

Re: Is the R33 any good? and i got another Q

And how many of these "many people" have ever seen one in person? The R32 changed the face of racing in Japan. To the puriests it is the True Godzilla.
I will say how ever I quite love the shape and design of the R34. The R33 was redesigned and rounded way too much. Sales fell sharply as in total sales vs the R32 were 40%. This was at the peak of the Skyline mania. Sales again were not very high on the R34 but that was due to a poor Japanese yen, and the high overall cost.

Also the R32 has again begun to raise in value while the R33 and R34 have dropped dramaticlly in the past 18 months. The R33 GTR's were on average $50k NZD just two years ago and have dropped $10k or more while an R32 was around $27K dependant on colour, and have risen to $30+k dependant on colour.

Project you are a manority not a majority. So in seeing what most people want in these cars, the market has responded.

R32s look much better in person.

I know of couple of guys that bought their R33s from MotoRex then went to collect the vehicals, then they saw the R32 GTR in person for the first time. Needless to say, they wish they had waited.

The R32 looks a little outdated, but a subtle bodykit changes that easily.
This car has a complete Trust bodykit, a C-West/Westin` CF wing and a CF hood. Even if you remove the CF hood and wing, this car would look awesome. But taste differs from person to person. Some wants the mother, other wants the daughter

Re: Is the R33 any good? and i got another Q

If you`re talking to me, I`m from Norway.

I`ve actually seen this car in the flesh, when i visited Dubai. I import and sell japanese cars together with a friend, and we traveled to Dubai to meet our contact, and to buy our first car. This was a LHD R32, and it will be fitted with the same Trust-bodykit. My friend is the official Trust-dealer here in norway, so he gets killer prices on the Trust-stuff

Mate I've seen you posting shit all over these forums. Postwhoring will get you banned if you continue to do here. Also get your facts straight because honestly you look like an ass when post without knowledge.

The R33 non-GTR's went into production in 93, while the GTR wasn't released until 95. The R32 GTR Vspec '93, and VspecII 94 were still in production while the R33's were still being produced an sold.

R31's are not that rare, though less were produced than the R32 model range, there are still quite a few running around.

I`ll find some pics for you. The car is (dont laugh) PINK! It has a few damages to the bodywork, but as we inspected the car thoroughly in Dubai, we are sure that it hasn`t been in any major accidents. Since he is going to repaint it anyways, buying a damaged car is a good way to save money. (the money saved will of course be spent on modifications )
It has an aftermarket rear diff, rollcage, Nismo N1 turbos, 2 x Apexi dumpvalves, Apexi intercooler, some sort of custom 3 or 3.5inch exhaust, bigger fuelpump and so on. Since it`s going to be a democar for his business, many of these parts will be exchanged for GReddy/Trust-parts.

The snow on the pictures should verify that I`m not one of those 16-year old kids that bother your forum all the time with pictures of their fantasy-cars, pitures of cars that you can find on any webpage. I don`t think it`s easy to find pics of skylines with snow on them
Or maybe the next thing happening in her is "Hey! Wait! That snow looks photoshopped to me! I call BS on your post!"
Just kidding (sorry for my extremely bad humor)

I have also imported a white LHD R32 for my brother. The LHD-conversion was finished a couple of weeks ago, but when we recieved the pink skyline, we discovered that it had no heater. This was a lucky incident for us, we could send the white car back to the conversion shop to re-fit the heater-element and piping to the air-vents on the dash before it was shipped to Norway Since the temperature in Dubai rarely drops below 20 degrees celcius, they don`t need it, so they just remove the heater-element from the car. Hopefully it will be shipped over the weekend.
It has an extensive mods-list, with Jun cams, T88-kit, but unfortunately it runs standard pistons and rods, or at least that`s what we think. As with any cars originating from Japan, you can always be surprised when you open the engine. We were told that there was a slight possibility that it had stronger internals, but it`s best to be prepared for the standard stuff so we don`t get disappointed.

Here`s a few pics of that too
