my new BBR Enzo..

well.. just got this. it's actually got a full interior though you can hardly see it. there is a full dash and drilled pedals.

the paint job is flawless. the workmanship meticulous. if not because I prefer to build my own models I would definitely start a collection!!

Re: my new BBR Enzo..

looks wonderful! Thanks for the pics pflau. I love to look at BBRs but they're too much of an investment for me right now.

Does the Enzo have opening parts? Also why do the exhaust pipes look kinda red in the last pic?

the exhausts ARE red/orange in color.. I dont know why.

nothing opens. but still the interior details are excellent. this model is so amazing.. I mean.. it looks like a 1/24 in some of these pictures!!!

I remember entering a die-cast car shop in nyc once by accident and saw a whole collection of these amazing 1/43 ferrari models the like of which I had never seen before.. only later did I find out they were BBRs. I never were interested in die-cast models before because they just dont measure up to the plastic models that I hand build myself.. until I saw those BBRs.

but of course now I found out that there are others like MR, AMR and stuff.. good thing I still prefer hand building mine cus I definitely cant afford to have a collection of those..!!

it altogether cost about $300USD. I got it from ferrarishop.com. the only other way to get it is from eBay.. but the price is maybe only $20 cheaper.

if you can do without the leather base you can have it for a lot less ~ $200USD.

since this is one of maybe two I'll ever get (I want that 250GTO too but they're out of stock.. it was going for $350 on eBay) I dont mind splurging a little.

yeah that's a beautiful model.. I just saw a 1/24 yellow hotwheel enzo today.. while it was a nice model the quality's just nowhere near.. I put it on my desk right behind my monitor and everytime I look at it it brings a smile to my face.

now if I could just get that 250GTO and Im done.. until they make another super ferrari.. but I dont think how they can top the enzo.

did marcello gandini design that car?? the last lambo I liked was the original diablo. I am not too crazy about the lambos now.. I think theyre too angular.. almost a throw back to the countach.

Re: my new BBR Enzo..

um, can someone explain to me why these are so expensive. I saw a couple on ebay and my jaw dropped (Especially when I found out that they were 1/43). They must be hand made or something, right? Thanks.

yes they are totally hand-made. they are actually resin kits with metal and photo-etched parts, and some of them are available unbuilt.

the most impressive thing about these model is the paint job.. I just wish I could lay down a layer of paint that smooth and glossy.

They're overpriced to be sure despite the fact that they're nice models but since they're such limited production you won't mind paying this much for them. They hold their value and often increase. Usually you can't say that for a Maisto model.

Re: my new BBR Enzo..

o.k. thanks guys. I'd definately be willing to pay that kind of money if they were 1/18.
