'03 S-10 factory radio

I'm installing a complete new sound system in my '03 S-10, and I want to sell the old sound system on eBay. I've read in the manual that the radio learns the VIN and locks up if put in a different vehicle, and I'd like to know if that can be disabled. The radio does have RDS.

ive pulled a radio out of a firebird with that crap on it it. it wouldn't work when put back in the car five min later but when it sat for over a year it worked
