tuning my girl's '01 2.0 n/t

hello there i'm looking to make my girlfriend's Jetta go faster. i have put my own project down for a bit and decided to get into the \x/ world for a bit. so i would like to know what the best

intake pipe

headers

hi-flow cat

cat-back exaust

are for this car. $$ is of no concern, so i don't want to hear about going to the local bend and burn exhaust shop for cheap. no offense to those of you who have one, my first custom exaust was one too. or if there is a tuning guide or something similar please gimmie a link. i know i'm just a lowly DSM guy [aka: ], but can ya help a guy out?

tectonics has a cat back system and high flow cat availible for you.
get the system with a Borla muffler. I love pushing then on others... Such throat, such sound, such flow...
putting cold air intake on any car may make it run great in warm-hot weather, but the moment she tries to drive it in the winter, it will run like sh!t, take forever to warm up properly and the mixture won't be right. stay away from cold air. Stick with the VW intake, specially if she has crossflow intake... leave it be. just pop a K&N in there and worry about the other performance. the crossflow intake more than sucks up lots of air.

side note:--- if you are boosting this cars performance keep in mind.
5spd - get a stronger clutch to handle the new power, the stock one will wear faster and not transfer all the new power. it will just slip a little.
auto - get a new torque converter.
if you change the cam in an auto, change the stall on the torque converter, that meens new converter. or else the engine will not slip right before takeoff and will shutter and stutter to the new cam throw.

good luck

Re: tuning my girl's '01 2.0 n/t

we live in so-cali, so would it be so bad? the weather is nice most of the time. what about a short ram style? just covering the basses for my own curiosity. i trust the factory intake is great, and the K&N filter replacement is as good as ordered. got to hand it to those germans. good stuff. and let me get this straight, Techtonics hi-cat cat-back with a Borla muffler? is that a piece it together yourself system, or can it be ordered together? what is a fair price for that? and unfortunately it is an AT. i don't really like the AT trannie. seems like it needs to have another gear at higher speeds, like it would be more gas friendly if there was. Thanks!!!
