aaarrggggg!!!!!
hey guys, got a question. i took apart the distributor in both camaros a while back, to get the ICMs out. and when i did, i left the air filter off the RS while i got the right ICM for the IROC. (slams head into wall), well, i got the IROC put back together, and shes running great. but i lost a screw to put the RS back together, so she sat a bit longer. well, today i put her back together and tried to fire her up, she cranked and cranked and cranked, and fired, ran and died. so i took off the air cleaner, and started her up again, and held her at 1500rpms, the engine was shaking side to side, misfiring, and when i let her idle, she would stall and fuel would spray up out of the throttle body. she was running perfect before i did this.
two things to concider are that while she was sitting she was apparently attaked by mud daubers, cuz every bolt hole on there is packed and sealed. so im thinking maybe one got into the engine and did something??? two, on the ICM harness the red connector is gone, and the wires are free floating so i put them on the way they seemed to want to go, and put it back together. but there is a chance i put them on backwards, but i would have thought it wouldnt run at all if i did that. but it seems like its almost running 180 out. coudl that have caused it you think? shes running pig rich, i can smell it, ive got so much to get done today, i really thought this was gonna be a ten minute project, dont have time for this all i did was take off the air cleaner, undo the distributor cap, lean it forward, and R&R the ICM in the distributor, then put it all back together. damn the past few days have been shitty. anyway, any insight on this would be great. -erik

Re: aaarrggggg!!!!!
did you pull the distributor? If so, you probably installed it to retarded, and you have to repull it and advance it. Sounds like your engine isn't advanced enough that would be my guess, though the connector thing may be a problem to but don't they only connect one way?

Re: aaarrggggg!!!!!
fixed it. but no i didnt pull the distributor, although it was pretty much running 180 degrees out anyway.
it was the wires to the ICM from the distributor. i had them backwards cuz the connecter was long gone, they were electrical taped on there when i pulled em. so when i wired em backwards the distributor signal to the ICM was backwards, fixed em, and shes runnin like a champ again
