Engine Fire
My muffler fell off my 92 Tempo in early August. Since then there has been no problems, until yesterday when there was a fire just below my intake manifold. It eventually put itself out and and hasnt started again since. My theory is that the backpressure waves caused my headers to crack and burn off all of the oil spilled on the engine block from many years of use. Am I right? Should I have my headers changed ASAP or can I wait to get some money?

Your theory is absolutely wrong . If your exhaust manifold or headers are cracked, you should replace them. As to the fire, I've got a couple of questions: 1) how do you know there was a fire (smoke?) 2) have you thought about replacing whichever gasket is leaking oil all over the side of your block (valve cover?)

Re: Engine Fire
that is pretty sad dude "it eventually put itself out"
WTF? if my engine caught on fire I would shut off the car, pull over and use the extinguisher under my seat. but that's me. It doesn't sound like you care about your car at all "My muffler fell off my 92 Tempo in early August". If you ask me, the fire was caused by poor maintenence, IE it was your fault. not the mufflers, or lack thereof.
