HOW TO: Neat Painting Jig

Before i start i appologize if something like this has been posted before.

I, myself like to hold my car bodies when i paint them. So i can have full 360 degree rotation.

Now im sure a few of you have some left over x-mas wrapping paper tubes correct? What could be better than converting this trash item into a super long hand held painting jig? Well comrades, there are 2 steps involved in which i will explain below.

TOOLS AND SUPPLIES NEEDED:
1. Wrapping paper tube or equivalent.

2. Tape -i like the blue painters tape, because it doesnt leave sticky stuff. But mostly because its blue.

STEP ONE:
Tape off one side of the tube.

STEP TWO:
Tape the underside of the body to be painted onto the tape applied in step 1.

Ok so its not really a how to, more of a tip with steps.

lol, great i idea, lol, just did that about 2 months ago, but didn't post. i made a stand and a hole in the top of it so the tube could slide in it, and be supported. then i set it in a paint booth and dry overnight.

I use my old Car pda holder it is spring loaded has sponge pads on the side to hold the body and it has a swivle mount..

i made one out of a coat hanger, and used one of those things that ppl put on their dinner table and it spins...

I use a 1 meter piece of 14-2 wire. I wish I had a camera, it would be much easier to explain. Basically, bend the wire in half, make a big loop at the top, and twist the remaining wire down the stem about 6 inches. The loop at the top is fitted into each body, and is flexible, so you can use it for any model. After the 6 inch stem, bend the remaining wire (should be about 12 inches left on each stem) out into two feet. In the end, you have a nice support that's easy to pick up and spin around, the body stays well seated, and when put down, the entire thing sits only about 6-8 inches off the table. I do the painting, then put it down carefully, and put a box with a couple vent holes over it right away. So far so good.

Sounds like the same thing i made with my coat hanger..
