Billet grill installation

Hi. I'd like to introduce myself. I'm the proud owner of a "new" used 2000 Silverado LT extended cab, 4wd Z71 Stepside. I love this truck. It's my first Chevy, and my first truck.

I test drove everything out there (Rams, Tundras, F-150's etc.) before I settled on the Chevy. And even though it's used, I'm as proud as a any new owner. I really look forward to exchanging ideas in this forum with other Silverado fans.

For my first question: I just bought a Bully billet grill from my Silverado off E-bay. It didn't come with instructions, and the seller offers no help.

It looks as though I'll have to cut out the two original plastic grill areas (there are no fasteners attaching top and bottom grills to the center Chevy logo bar), and then drill the existing black plastic bezel around the grill openings to bolt on the new billet grill ends (the new billet grills have 2 bolt holes on each end).

Does this sound right? I'd hate to cut up and destroy my original parts, then find out I did it all wrong. Also, I wonder if the black plastic bezel is structurally sound enough to support the new grill by its ends.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

installing the grill is actually really simple...first i would advise getting a bbq lighter from the store,....you know those long ones...
now i have a 02 silverado i think its the same...take the grill off..which is really simple...there are 4 philips head screws that just unlock...they dont come completely out. once you have the grill off there are plastic clips that hold the grill in place...there are a bunch of them and they go all down the center, top and bottom of the stock grill...these are plastic and here is were the lighter comes into play....heat them up so they are maliable and then just pop the grill up section by section....its a lot easier if you have someone help you...one to hold and pull and one to use the lighter...that is all for taking the grill out....then when you put the grill in just center it and put the bolts in....well i hoped that this helps out if you need anything else let me know....
