Oil Light and Knocking valves

Hello,
I have a 1995 Honda Civic that was recently in an accident. I have the car repaired and shortly after, the oil light kept coming on. I checked the oil dipstick and it had enough oil in it. Two weeks later, I was driving the car when the oil light came on and the car shut off in motion. A week later I heard the valve knocking real loud when the car is in gear or giving it gas. Once again, the dipstick showed that I had enough oil.

I would like to know if this is an oil pump problem or something else?

similar thing happened to me in my 93 civic si. i was driving up my street and my car was revving high and then the oil light turned on and my car just died. i towed it to the shop and it turned out the oil pump quit and destroyed my engine. so i got it rebuilt, got it back and a week later i was driving and the oil light kept on flickering so i stopped checked the oil and it showed fine. an hour later my engine started to knock. so i went home, towed it the next day, and they are going to have to rebuild my engine again. free of charge because the guy that rebuilt my engine left pieces of shaved metal in my head which messed everything up. So im guessing you have about the same problem i do.

does it sound like a guy is beating it with a hammer? if it does take off your oil pan and put your hand on each rod and wiggle it to see if they move at all. if any one wiggles then you have a bad rod bearing and you are going to have to repalce it along with getting your crank reground and piston rings and the cylinder honed. probably a good 3-4 hundred dollars. so now if any is a good time to do an engine swap.
