ABS Light On-STEADY Not Flashing

I start my car and the light doesnt come on right away but once i put it into driv n start to drive the light comes on and it stays on until i shut the car off. Could it be a fuse or relay? I know my ABS doesnt work because it rains and i hit my brakes and they locked up, any ideas?

My guess would be is the system is trying to tell you the ABS system is not working properly. but my car on the other hand does the same thing as your light does. only my ABS do work, because if i slam on the brakes they don't lock up.

Same thing on my APV - steady ABS light on shortly after starting. Turns out it was the alternator. Alternator was working but poorly. Replaced the alt. last year and ABS light has not stayed on since!?

I have had over 14 of these cars (1990-1994) and presently own 4 Euros, originally got most as company cars.
All of my ABS problems have been with the piece of wire that goes from the fender apron to the pigtail of the wheel sensor. Usually it is the right front for some reason. Because of the cheap conductor which barely has any real wire in it, the wire breaks internally and sometimes externally as well, up near the connector end near the wheel sensor pigtail. It is almost impossible to solder it back together and GM will only sell you a splice section that will also be very hard
( if possible at all) to make a solid connection to the original wire. I ordered a few used wires from a salvage car and always now have a set on hand in case they break. if that is not the problem another sore spot is with the connecter on one of the control unit located above the left front wheel behind the splash shield. Hope this gives you some ideas, Chuck
