Nos Vs. Turbocharger Vs. Supercharger
The first time I got on I posted a question about how to spend the extra $1000 I have. Before I got on, I already have a GReddy Exhaust System and a performance catalytic converter. After the advice I receive I went ahead and order myself a K-series DC Sport Header, AEM Cold Air Intake, 9mm Nology Wires, ACT Stage 2 Racer Clutch, and a Short shifter I also upgraded my ECU. Well, maybe all of these are a little over $1000 but it was money well spent. Now my car redline at 7600 rpm, when it was stock it only redline at 6900 rpm. Not only I can see the differences but I can also feel the differeces when the V-tec started to kick in. With this at hand, I decided to race a RSX typeS. I must say, the typeS is pretty quick but it didn't stay a chance. I don't know how I beat him but I did, maybe because of the driver or because my SI was alot lighter. But that is not the case now, I want to go after the cars with the turbo like an EVO, STi, Supra, MR2, RX8, etc. That is why I am thinking about giving myself a maxium boost. I need advice on what would be better to get for my car in order for me to take on these high performance stock car. I'm trying to decide between a SUPERCHARGER, TURBOCHARGER, or just plain o NOS. Can you guys tell me which one are the best as far as price vs. hp gose. |

Re: Nos Vs. Turbocharger Vs. Supercharger
If you'll not trying to fuck with me then that's cool man. All I want to do is to come on here and exchange idea with ya'll. The only reason why I want advice from you guys is because I think we all can relate in terms of wanting the best for our car for the best price we can get it for. So if you can help me out then that's cool but it you can't then I think it would be nice if you would just keep your quote to yourself.

Simple, the most hp potential would be to add a turbo to the car. Cheapest would be a N2O system but they have a tendancy to be very harsh on the motor.

Re: Nos Vs. Turbocharger Vs. Supercharger
So u saying that a T3/T4 turbo would serve me best rather than the turbocharger and the supercharger would.

Well there are good sides and bad sides to all those:
Nitrous Goods: easy to install, pretty easy to tune, low hp shots don't do too much damage. Bads: you have to find a place to refill, so your fun is only as good on how much gas you have. Some states it's illegal to carry compressed gases in your car. Can get costly if you are trigger happy. Supercharger Goods: Instant boost - no turbo lag. Power right from idle to redline in most cases. Bads: has parasitic drag, since it runs off the motor it takes energy to get power. Some cars are limited on space available for a supercharger. Limited on how much power you can make due to supercharger's pulley. Turbo Goods: endless power possibilities. Doesn't have parasitic drag since it runs off exhaust gases. Bads: sometimes hard to tune correctly. Can get expensive the more power you want, need room for an intercooler to cool the compressed air (which becomes heated). Turbo lag.
