Well, here's two projects that have been done for a while now. Mike might remember the 55' chevy from the S.R. room on msn. Technically that'd been done, stripped and rebuilt, and I never really finished this car until this morning. I had to glue the bird back on the hood, and paint the inner wheels (seems I'd forgotten earlier this year when it was rebuilt. It has a new front suspension from a late 70's stang, 350 sbc with EFI, flame job, S10 rims and slicks in the back from a nascar. What I'd recently done: S10 rims, 9'' ford rear end, flat black roof and hood scoop, new license plate. So here's some pics for you too enjoy.
![]() [/IMG] Those cool half pics ^ ![]() Best pic ^ Here's my last completed project: 1964 Dodge 330 SS/A. 426 hemi (btw the motor was already painted when I bought the kit (it was open and missing headlights, for 4.25usd you can't beat that.) I just never got around to fixing the black tunnel ram to orange. It has a green 8pt rollcage, and I severered the front bench seat in two to make two buket like seats. I think, I'm not sure I heard my LHS owner saying the guy who drove this car was located in Slidell, or he might be thinking of someone who had one similar. Anyway, here's some pics. ![]() ![]() My favorite pic, just how I have the car sitting on my shelf. I deliberately put the hood supports on the wrong side of the hood, so from the front when open, it reminds me of the viper. Blurry motor pic^, no macro!

Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
looks good, though on the first car i hope it doesnt go over a speed bumb, that sterling linkage is very low to the grownd.
btw if u copy the image link from the gallery it already has the [img] tags on it so u dont need to put them again. |

Re: Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
Well, the kit was open, and the suspension bent, I tried to bend it back, but saw stress marks in the plastic, so I said fudge it. On the box it has a lil camber, but I guess that's from the helacious hemi in the front. Thanks for your replies.

Re: Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
heheh, that's cool mike, I know a dude who built the kit your building, his is cool, has the slant 6, dual exhaust, he custom built a manifold to accept a 6pack, and used the stock wheels from his superbee kit, it looks pretty cool.

Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
Sweet, the 330 reminds me of a VIP Chrysler Valiant. That 55 Chevy is a really bad kit, I've given up on mine it's just sitting in a drawer now with abotu $200 worth of my old models that I either broke or threw in there because they look so bad.

Re: Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
Thanks for your replies. Yes, they're quite nice cars, and i know the 330 needs some aluminum trim, and panel lines, but I'm not gona mess up my paint with that. Seeing as It came out perfect first try with no primer.

Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
Looks good. Isn't the 55 a Revell kit? I've seen that one at Wal-Mart a while ago I think.
330 looks really good too. I like the color of the paint.

Re: Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
thanks for your replies and interests. yes, Eugene the 55 is a revell kit, however, it has a front leaf spring suspension that I ditched in favor of the mustang or whatever the front suspension that's on it. I also, remade the rear leafs from tree, flat, not curved as it would lower the car, I also installed coils, and a anti-roll bar under the rear end.

Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
Well, it looks really good.
Was the overall build of the car pretty good, or pretty bad. Knowing Revell, they have a lot of both.

Re: Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
The only problems I had, and they were minor (I was brush painting the dash in gloss red, and it snapped out the tree, but it was attached really thinly, didn't mess the paint. And the seats and lil knobs under the middle, and no connecting point on the floorboard. So, I had to put some glue on the knobs and line them up by eye and hold them for a few minutes till they'd set enough to stay down.

Re: CSM 55' Chevy and 64' Dodge 330
Yeah, there are always just a few little things that are not as well done as Tamiya's kits are, but they are $9.
Thanks for the review. I think I might get this kit and try it sometime now. Have some cool paint etc.
