90-91 accord bumper lenses

I've heard that you can remove the yellow reflector from the 90 accord's bumper lenses... has anyone done this? If you have could you give me some directions?

thanks

Why not just pay $20 for a set of clears?
I don't think it's possible with those lenses.

Yeah the 20 bucks isn't expensive, but if you want to only remove the orange reflector. It can easily be done. Open the housing and remove the orange. Make sure you reseal it tight or water will come in.

Re: 90-91 accord bumper lenses

actually....you can do it.
i did it myself with very little money

there are two ways to do it.
one is to use a dremel drill and cut out the clear lense from the base.
then open up the houseing and pop out the yellow reflector.
after that, glue the clear outer lense back on.
and you're done.

another way is to pop out the lense from the inside.
take your lense and take out the blub.
now you have an opening to work with.
use pillars and brake the yellow lense into small pieces and you can then shake them out.
you can also use a satter (spell?) and melt the pieces instead of braking them.

good luck

the good news is that........if you mess up, you will only have to pay 20 dollars for replacements.

You can follow the instructions I've made of that

This is for the 88-89 Accords but I'm sure it will work fine for the 90-91 as well.

It IS cheaper to do it yourself, but they still wont look as good as paying the 20 bucks and getting the euro clears. The stock ones look all dulled and brownish. I got mine off Ebay for like $18 shipped. Dont be a tight ass. :frog:

I have never heard of anyone removing the orange out of the accords. I know its really easy on the civics and crx's, just open and take out the orange and put close it. I would pay the little bit of money for new ones, I have bought 2 sets so far Big rock hit it and busted it.

haha solder you mean lol. well yeah i tried beaking the little orange thing out of my tail lights in my 94 accord and it was hard as crap, i ended up using my dremel and cutting a hole in the side and pulling the plastic piece out, its not as messy as the other way and take two seconds. make sure you seal it back up with silicon before putting it back in. another way is to put the blinker in the oven on like 200 degrees then pulling it apart and taking out the orange piece. then seal it back up.
