I dont think its the projector that has to do w/ the bulbs burning out. Its the shitty ass H3 bulbs that they use, yea trust me I gotta change my projector bulbs about once a month also!

I've tried many different brands of bulbs with mine, ranging from $10 to $120 ... they all lasted the same amount of time ... the only thing I noticed was that they last longer if I remove the rubber seal at the back ... so I'm guessing it was creating too much heat inside the projector ...

Hmmm, thats funny. I think i'm gonna try that from now on. I just took apart my whole projector last night LOL was kind of a bitch!! One of the aligning screws that hold the projector came loose, so i had to take it apart and fix it. I also cleaned the inside of the lens while i was at it! Look perty, new and shiny now!! Just gotta buy the damn silicone now.....i'm ridin w/ one projector and one oem headlamp :o LOL

Re: G2 Projectors

I gotta admit, projectors look good, but the light outout sucks! If it wasn't for my fogs, I couldn't see jack squat! I'm back to stockers painted black and thinking about Silverstars. I would like to be able to do something with the projectors to improve the light output without spending$$$ for HID and not waste the money I spent on them. Anyone got any suggestions?

HIDs may be pretty expensive, but they are definitly worth the money. Even if you dont want to, if you're planning on keeping your car, I feel you should invest the money and get HIDs.

I would estimate buying HIDs is equivilant to buying 2 years worth of hyperwhites. You'll also have to factor in the fact that during these two years of hyperwhites, you'll have to change them every time they blow out, and you'll have very poor light output, where as the HIDs will last with out having any mantanance, and the light output is more than enough.

HIDs are worth investing in for your ride.

I bought HID and am VERY pleased withi them. BUT before you buy an HID kit for your projectors to improve visibility, make sure it is the bulbs causing poor output and not the reflectors. When I first got my HID kit it was with H1 bulbs to fit my projectors. Light was brighter, but I still couldn't see because the reflector angle was so crazy. The beam pattern was TERRIBLE. So I got OEM style black housings with new 9006 HID bulbs for the kit and the road is lit again.

Moral of my post: don't waste money on the solution to a problem you don't have. Take it from me, 3 sets of bulbs later and roughly $500 poorer
