Do I have a 5.0L or 5.7?
Yeah... I really pride myself on not being one of those guys who's a complete dumbass about his vehicle. I know a pretty good bit about my tahoe and knew alot more about the bronco I used to have.... anyway.. that being said... I bought a 96 2 door tahoe last june and never really thought to look if I had the 5.0L or the 5.7L... I've looked around the engine and haven't found any disguishing markings, except for the Vortek plastic casing on the top of the engine... can anyone tell me where it would tell me?
Thanks, Ben |

What is the 8th digit of your VIN number?
if it is a "R" than it is a 5.7
