Re: Slicktops ?

slicktops are basically the exact same as a regular n/a coupe but with hardtop roof instead of t-tops. Mechanically they are identical.

As for one for sale, good luck. They are really rare.

The slicktop Z32s are also available with the TT motor.

Slicktops weigh about 40 -50 kg lighter due to the targa top needing a strengthening bar that runs down the centre of the roof.

If you are looking at buying a z32 this is the way to go! (the 91 slicktops are the fastest of the factory Zs)

Re: Slicktops ?

Wish I got a Slicktop... Personally I would just leave it VG30DE, you know those cars will be worth some BANK in about 30 years. Thats why im restoring mine to factory look, with slight mods. (By the way mines just a simple 1990 2 seater N/A) But yea man if you can get your hands on a Slicktop Z, HOLD ONTO THAT THING! Or if you ever want to sell it, gimme a shout! peace

Re: Slicktops ?

I didn't notice it before but Gunnar is from Iceland. So yeah you might find a slicktop tt. I guess I gotta stop assuming that everyone's from the U.S. LOL
Slicktop tt aren't available in the U.S. unless you do a conversion.
My understanding was that the reason that t-tops are heavier is because glass is heavier than sheet metal.

Re: Slicktops ?

The way I understood it was that the T-Tops is considered a convertable. On convertable cars, the chassis is reinforced to handle the removal of the roof. If you ever just cut the roof off a car, it will total itself, thus, the Slicktop was a non-reinforced version due to that fact that it was a hardtop. So its much lighter. Dig? peace
