Addition of Fog Lamps
I'm new here, but I have been reading through all the previous posts and this appears to be good channel for information.
What I would like to do is add fog lamps to my 2003 Malibu, however I did not get this option on my car. How difficult would it be to install them? Are the wiring harness and fuse locations, etc, all present, requiring only the physical installation of the lamps, or will I need to do all the wiring for them as well. Also, how they switched in the factory installation? Do they just come on with the headlamps or did they have a separate switch in the car? Lastly, what would be my best option as far as getting the lamps cheaply? I doubt getting the GM parts from a dealership would be cost effective, but perhaps a junk yard or aftermarket. If I were to take them off an existing Malibu at a yard, besides the lamps themselves, what would I need to remove? Thanks.

I know a lot of people dont like Wallmart. I dont really myself. But i didnt have foglights on my malibu, but i did have the space in the front end. I bought a $30 pair. They fit in nicely and look slick. As for wiring, i just ran the wire into the car along the edge of the hood with some other wire, i think the existing wre was for the wipers. Well anyway the lights came with a switch, so i can have them on whenever i want to, and not have to have them on with my normal headlights. Wiring them was easy, but in Ohio it was freezing so they might only take about 15-20 min if you know how you wana do it. Other wise you can mess around and see where you wana put the wire somewhere else if you find a spot. I just consider those lights easy to put in look nice and good if you dont wana spend a ton.

Thanks for the heads up Harry! I just got home from college this week and hope to make a trek out to a semi-local salvage yard while I'm home, as there are several other parts I am in search of. I'll definitely keep in mind your suggestion when I'm quoted a price at a salvage yard (that is, IF I can find the lamps at a salvage yard). Any chance I could get a simple day/night shot of your work ? I know its a pain w/o a digital camera, but if you have one and have the time that would be great!
