Projectors...?

Alright, I like to be able to see at night as best as I can so I was wondering, are projectors really all that beneficial? Or are they more of just a looks thing? I dont like to be real flashy so I dont want them if they really dont serve their purpose. But really, do they increase visibility at night over stock headlights? Anyone know from personal experience?

Re: Headlights... Whats brightest besides HID?

All I know is don't buy cheap bulbs. I'm going to save for Sylvania's. I have blown 3 lows in under 1 month. I got them for a gift and after the 1st one blew I called the company they were orderd from, PCP, and they gave me a new pair but I had to pay the shipping. I was wondering the same thing about projectors as well. I was thinking about ordering some but I don't want to if they don't change anything.

Yea, same with me, I dont want to get them if they dont do shit to increase visibility. I know a few people on here have projectors and I just want to know what their personal opinion is...

I have heard some people say on here that they love their projectors, but I dont like mine at all. I bought mine becasue my stock headlights were getting really bad, so I figured I would get some projectors. I got some off ebay. The high beams were as bad as stock, and the low beams were even worse, they hardly did anything. I did that mod to put high beam bulbs in the lows and that helped a real lot, but they are still not that bright. Im using just cheap bulbs though, so that may be my problem, but I was also using cheap bulbs in my stock ones. I wanna get some good ones at somepoint and see how that goes. I think I would have stuck with my stock ones, but the projectors do look really cool.

My projectors are way brighter than my stock headlights ever were - with the same bulbs. I have ion (gold) bulbs, but I don't remember exactly which brand, they're a step or two below PIAA's...

I have the sylvnia superstars in and they are def. whiter and clearer, but without the projection effect you can't really see all that much further ahead of you.

Do you have these? If so how long have you had them? Any driving in the rain? I said they go out all the time if they are that cheap. I've already had bad experiences to back up what I say about the cheap ones though.

with u blowing 3 bulbs in 1 month there must be something wrong,
did u touch the lens when installing it?? if so the oil on ur fingers tend to make the bulbs explode, also, if u have condensation in ur housing, that will make the bulb exploded too

as for the sylvania silverstars... i'm getting a set on boxing day most likely from work, i've been trying to hide a set of 9006 and 9005 in the back (i think thats what our cars take) i dunno i looked it up and hid the right bulbs, all i gotta say is that they better be there on boxing day for me

Re: Headlights... Whats brightest besides HID?

I know how to install a halogen light! I didn't touch the bulb because I knew that the oils from your skin makes it explode. They aren't exploding though! The spring in the filament just keeps blowing away from the rest of it. I was thinking that I had an electrical problem but this car only has 42k on it. That and it never does it with my stock bulbs. I think the PCP lights are just really shitty. I'm gunna get some Sylvania's after x-mas.
