97 Power Heated Mirrors
My question is can the ehated mirros that were available for the 97 Taurus be put on a Taurus that had non-heated mirros. I'm not sure if the wiring if different or what but I do know that the heated mirrow only has 1 plug on it like the non-heated. My 97 Taurus G has what says to be a heated mirror. I'm not sure if it actually is heated or not. The passengers side does not say heated on it. I do know that in 99 the car was in a front end collision but I am not aware of the exact of the damage. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You in advance.

On my 96, the driver mirror says heated, but the only heat that actually gets to the mirror(s) is from the vent duct in the dash. If you have the heat on, some heat goes into the duct and hopefully helps your mirror.

Re: 97 Power Heated Mirrors
my '99 has all the wiring for heated mirrors even though it didn't come with them and the plug on a heated mirror plugs right in. I guess you'll have to wait until wintertime and see if the heat actually works.

my heated mirror on my 97 taurus is activated by the rear window defroster. The button is pressed and is melts snow and ice very quickly. Much more quickly than having the car heat up and wait for the warm air to reach in any ducts. I would check the wiring diagram for your particular model to see if it has the capacity to be heated or not.

I have read several psot about the heated mirrors on other forums.
The concensus is that it is a plug and play that all cars are wired for it. Pretty much the same for power seats. The plug ins are there even if the seats are manual. Mike |
