I just purchased a 1970 Monte Carlo that is in excellent shape. I'm in the process of putting the final touches on her to really make it gleam!
But my question is in relation to the wheels. This beauty has a MINT set of absolutely ORIGINAL (not NOS or remake) 1968 Corvette Wheels, Rings, and Caps. I'm not exactly sure what they are worth, but I've had two seperate people see them and one said they were worth 2 grand, but the other guy said wouldn't sell them for less than $2,500. My question is, did I really stumble upon these by happen-chance? I'm not a corvette nut, and I do not know the wheels that well... so I'm hoping one of you can tell me what this set of four is really worth. Their the 1968 15x7D (the deeper offset that required special rings). They are beautiful... never scraped a curb or anything. They were put on this 70 Monte when it was new and the vehicle was stored for almost it's entire life. I really do not plan on selling them, they are the finest wheels I've ever seen. But I'd like to know what their worth, and how rare they are... I might take them off and just put them on for shows to make sure they aren't stolen. Thanks for any input you might have! I can be e-mailed at [email protected] or I'll be viewing this board too. Billie

Re: 1968 Corvette Wheels ???
Got any pics? Are you sure they're 15x7 and not 15x8? But come to think of it...hmmm. My dad bought a 70 ElCamino brand new, that came with 15x7 Vette rims...the deep ones. I think they were ordered with the car. But I'd sure like to see your rims. My dad got rid of his within the first year after he bought the car...putting on 15x7 reversed Cragars. http://www.hometown.aol.com/a1supers...page/auto.html . It's at the bottom of the site. Hope to see yours soon.
