Although nitrous is known for being the absolute best bang for the buck (especially on top of a turbo), it can get fairly complicated and tuning can be a bitch. I would hold off on nitrous until you're comfortable tuning with just the turbo by itself

As for power numbers with nitrous, I've seen a 2g run ~11.7 on the stock t25 and a 75 shot of nitrous. Of course he had a fairly built motor, but it just goes to show you the sheer power of turbo+nitrous.

Re: Nitrous

musicman181. some of us dont come on here everyday. so future refrence when refuring to a previous post please Qutote your thread, or post a link for refrence. i dont know how to answer your question becasue i dont have the nessessary information to respond.

P.S. it's always better to bring back an old post then to start a new thread.

<EDIT> http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...2&page=1&pp=15

In refrence to your old thread and your new question. the reason no one suggested Nitrous is becasue you dont have any supporting mods. let alone supporting mods for N02. if i were in your shoes, i'd suggest for your budget porting your manifold, o2 housing, 14b turbo, new oil lines, boost gauge, manual boost controller, $50 ebay intake (or Homedepot), $20 used 1g bov, dejon UICP, NKG plugs & wires, 3in mandrell $130 Down pipe w/ cat elimim (dsmtuner, ebay) muffler shop special 3in cat back (150-250), Pocket logger, and used afc2.

that should put you into the qulifing satages to give a trans a run for the $. and once you get your hands dirty youll understand the need for fuel mods to support the goals your looking for. there is just no way to hit 400hp without larger injectors, fuel pump, perferably a AFPR, and tunning!!

i think it would be good for you to spend a few days searcing AF & Dsmtuner to beter understand a few specifics.

even then your going to run into problems with heat soak with your smic trying to reach that goal.

Re: Nitrous

that post was deleted.

There are two types of people in my opinion that run nitrous: full built motor guy and pushing the limits guy. The first should be self explanatory, lots of money in the engine bay, and that they have their direct port nitrous going to a $600 manifold should be an indication if this can be you or not. The second guy, well.. he is known to run 550whp on stock internals, run 11's on a 14b, or try nitrous on a stock motor.

Stock motor nitrous is an option, but you have to realize you aren't adding an intake. In Alaska, nano ran 11.91 @ 114.4 on a T28/nitrous. Here's one of his posts I've read recently:

As for the basic mods needed to be a near stock nitrous user... I have no idea.

Re: Nitrous

I'd say all the basic bolt-ons (intake/IC/exhaust/etc), some form of logging/tuning, and a healthy motor (good compression, small leakdown %, no oil/coolant leaks, etc) would be fine to run a 50 shot of nitrous on. As with plain old turbos, tuning is KEY. When you add nitrous into the mix, tuning is even more important (and a little more complicated). I've never had personal experience with nitrous+turbo, but I know personally a few who have. Hell I might even run a 50 shot on top of my 14b someday
