My vs 3000gt non turbo..
Well the guy with this car thinks that he can take me in the 1/4 since he passed me and as he was passing me i downshifted and he still passed me, although momentum was on his side.. what does everyone else think? his car is stock besides intake..

Your LS/vtec should take him. Non turbo 3000GT's are big, heavy 16+ second cars in the 1/4 mile. A Civic EX could hang with one.

i have a question off the subject but this is really pissing me off..................everyone gives me a different definition to when you "double clutch" while racing......i know what it is but people have been giving me different definitions............what is it?

You only double cluth when downshifting, it doesent fuck up your engine as just downshifting and letting the clutch of quickly, you never double clutch when you racing in a quarter mile since it is only upshifts...Only when you have to downshift from a roll, double clutching is putting it in neutral, letting the clutch off, revmatching to the lowers engine speed, and pushing the clutch again while revmatching and put the gear in, it is very slow, doesent work for me...
I just press the clucth, put it in the desired lower gear, and while i have the clutch in revmatch and let go, its way faster and you dont get that "big kick in the engine" response, its smoooth..

You realise you don't need to double clutch in any modern car right?
You only need to if you're driving something old that doesn't have gear syncros. Which all modern manual cars have.

Not necasarily (whatever) true. Although new cars have syncros in the manual transmissions, downshifting causes a big increase in RPM, exspecially when downshifting two gears. Yes, the syncros will match the transmission speed to the engine speed, but you get a big jerk from it trying to match so quickly. Double clutching matches the engine speed to the now higher transmission speed since you downshifted. Thus it creates less wear on the syncros and allows a smoother operation. Food for thought.

0-60 on that non turbo 300gt is 8.5, you shouldnt have too much of a problem.
