wiring help.....

I'm about to replace the stock hu in my 98 Teg RS. I was wondering what the stock wire colors are in reference to pos/neg and speaker/grnd/pwr?

Re: wiring help.....

easiest way to install a HU is to get a wiring harness. The wires off the harness are color coded the sameway the wires off the harness off of the HU are so all you have to do is match the colors then plug the wiring harness into the existing wiring harness in your teg.

I know about the wiring harness and those options. But the hu i'm putting in will most likely be coming out around christmas so i can put another one in. I don't wanna spend $$$ on a harness when I only use it for a couple weeks.

No NO the harness stays with the car it is an adaptor for the cars wiring harness not the radio's. It doesn't matter what kind of radio you put in they all have the same color wire coming out of the back. The wiring harness he spoke of converts your stock teg harness over to this standardized system... Besides $15 isn't bad for the amount of headaches it will save you.
