When Did BMW Made in USA?

Just wondering what year did the BMW manufacture in the USA land?? And How good are they compare to the German made?

Actually, BMW has a plant in South Africa.

The BMW X3 is made at a non-BMW factory in both Spain and Austria.

The BMW X5 and Z4 are both made at a BMW factory in South Carolina.

The first two generation M5s were built by hand at the BMW M factory (except for the South African-spec M5s). The new M5 rolls down the same lines as a 520i.

and where are the NEW 3series are made ?
whent in to production on March 1st, should see some at a local dealer on the 5th, the plant makes 650 cars per day
