I bought a '91 Accord SE about two years ago, and put it through some barbed wire and a few fence posts after 6 months. I had liability insurance
. Set it in the back of my garage and left it. Now I have the time and funds to do something with it, and would like to hear some fresh ideas. This is my car, so I'm gonna do what I think looks good, but I would like some input from "those in the know." First, I see body kits get slammed alot in this forum, instead people say to just go OEM with a lip. Here's my deal: I don't think the 4th-Gen. Accord is that bad-ass by itself. Anyone disagree? I'd love to see some pics if you've got a hot looking Accord with no bodykit. As far as the kit goes, it's gonna have a professional installation and paint. I can't do (and don't want to "take a stab" at doing) these things. I'm keeping the car the OEM Silver metallic, with a CF hood and projectors, and was wanting to accent it with blue neons. Do you think this is too "ricer"? Now before you answer that, let's move onto the motor. I'm going to drop in an H22a, which I'll wind up turboing in the end. I know this is the wrong forum for this next question, but please bear with me. In my research of the H22, most everybody agrees that you need to follow up w/ the H22 tranny, but from what I gather, it's better to keep the F22 (with longer throws) if you're gonna turbo. Any ideas? Again, I'm not asking you to build a car for me, I'd just like to hear some fresh ideas, maybe something I hadn't heard of. Any criticisms of what I've got planned I'd love to hear! That's what the forum's for. Thanks,Solomon Edit: I've been doin' some snoopin' around the site, and what I hear is that installing body kits is easy, as long as they're quality. And let me go ahead and say that I FIRMLY believe that you get what you pay for. I've been screwed over before. The only thing I buy off of eBay is OEM. I plan on paying $700 - $1000 for my kit. I'd just prefer to let a shop do it 'cause I don't want to fuck anything up, and then there goes the money down the drain. But if it really IS easy, the $1000 - $1500 they'll charge to install is even more money down the drain. Let me know what you think! Last edited by Solomon219; 12-01-2003 at 09:07 PM. |

Here's a pic of my friend's accord, kitted, dropped, wheels, headlights, red/clear taillights, etc...
I love his car and there isn't much done to the exterior. I'm a fan of body kits, and I would suggest getting one.

Car looks awesome! Definitely going with the red/clear tails. I think they're better looking than the altezza/clears. You really don't seem them around much, at least not around here. Now as far as the kit, I like the Evo3 front. I like the Euro/Pro-Touring look with the large fog-lights. Maybe CW rear, with Black Widow sides. Now I know that urethane's better, but it's hard to find a kit like that for this model (if they even make it). People, let me know what you think of this combo! Again, I'm not letting anybody affect the way I do my car, but every great work has MANY revisions. (I don't expect it to be great, but I'd at least like to make an impression
)Edit- I noticed the black projectors. With the silver paint, what do you guys think would look better: Chrome or Black? Thanks! |

Re: What Should I do to My '91 Accord SE?
Well, it seems that you have your stuffs pretty much figured out. What you're planning to do with your car sounds like the ideal way. Your Accord with the body kit wont be considered rice if it was fitted properly and painted properly. The H22 engine is a good choice, and keeping your stock tranny for a turbo setup is also thumbs up. Just listen to your self and you'll be fine.
