Talking Just had an awsome race!

So I am driving home from school, chilling in the right lane doin 80. I hear the sound of an exhaust commin up the right, i look back and see blue headlights and think, ok whats this? Guy pulls up in a red 93~97 prelude, exhuast, sounded like an intake, and those damn altezza lights that they seem to sell at 7-11 cuz everyone has em. So he had to be doin 90~100 to get to me and then he just stops next to me and looks at me. By this time the highway expanded in a 5th lane that merges onto a perpendicular highway. He is in that lane, and I wana get in it so I start to accelerate in 5th, but he just stays next to me, so I say fuck it and drop it into 3rd and pass him. He takes the exit too and we both fly thorugh the tool booth, i was goin about 70 and he had to be right there also. The lanes then merge into one that merges back onto the new highway and I let him go by. The new highway is kinda crowded but not jammed so I figure that he is gonna slow cuz of traffic, nope he just starts weavin in and out, so i am like hell why not. I felt like I was in fast&furious I swear, at one point I looked at me speedo and I was goin 110 (in a 55 in traffic). We swapped lanes and postions a lot trying to get ahead of each other. That went on for about 3 miles or so and then my exit came up so i ducked out to the right lane and got off. He kept goin, and as I got off i saw a nice looking eclipse that was chasing after the guy in the prelude. My heart was poundin like crazy and was like shit, that was the most fun i have had in a long time. I havent raced in a while, mainly due to me taking off my Volks for winter, now my car just looks like some stocker with an exhaust. Most people wont race me when it looks like that for some reason. Oh and please, everybody i know that what i did (racing in heavy traffic) is not the smartest thing in the world, so please no lectures, I needed to get it out of my system for the last time before winter ok, hind sight is 20/20, and after I was done, i realized that I could have been killed or even worse, killed someone else. I know so dont tell me. I just had to tell the story

Cool!! You weren't really pushing were you because he would have had no chance against your car had you been trying.

I dunno, it was more of a "who can pick the right lane kinda race" not really "how fast is your car". I was pushin as hard as i could under the circumstances. I think in a straight line I could take him no problem as i can take my freinds '99 Prelude SH that has an intake, header, exhaust, and underdrive pulleys. My car aignt bad for having no turbo! Ohhhhh.....TURBO......mmmmmm

What is this, why does everybody wanna race me now!! I just got into another race with a blue civic si on the way home from the gym. I wish I had my Volks on that have my Toyo T1-S' on the car, cuz the crappy stock all-season yokohamas just dont grip off the line. Well anyway here goes: I am sittin at the light and I notice that the Si in front of me has a muffler. After the green I get along side and he has all the nice clear and blue light stuff up front so i see if he wants to play. We get to the stop and to see if he wants to, but he doesnt line up, he stayed with his front bumper at the passenger door. The light goes green and he takes off after I just start to go figuring he does not want to race. So i get up to him and i give him the nod, he gives it back. i rev to about 3k and when the light turns i drop it. Damn yoko's wont grip though and I go kinda sideways at first and then start to get some traction. Even with my little unwanted burnout we are even after the start (doesnt say much for his start either). I shift into 2nd and get maybe a couple of feet on him which he makes up in vtec, i shift into 3rd and agian take a few feet, but he is into v-tec in 3rd and starts to gain little by little and i couldnt make it up in 4th. He slowed as did i at the next light, we exchanged nods again and went on our ways. Makes me wonder though, i think my freind in the Prelude SH can't drive stick or something cuz why could I take his SH but not the Si?? All I could see on the Si was a muffler, but there maybe there was more under the hood. He was prolly like "what the hell how is this miata still with me??" cuz my car looks like crap with my stock 14" steel wheels on. Anyway its been a good night!!

I got into another race last night. I was sittin at a light and I see some HID lights comin up the right, they werent those crappy fake HID bulbs, but real HID, so I was anxious to see what it was. It turned out to be a new Lexus SC430!! The guy pulled up next to me and I roll down my window and so does he. We talk a little about the car, he didnt know a damn thing about it, he said, "I just bought it cuz it looked cool". Kinda sad but whatever. He asked me if I wanted to race and i said sure, "but you are gonna wack me" so he replies "ok I'll give you the hit and a car or two" I nod, roll up the window and rev it 3k. Light turns green I drop it and get so-so traction from the crappy tires, I am ahead of him (from the looks he gave me about 2 cars or so) until I hit 70 or so and then he just blew by me, no problem. As he drove by I saw a huge smile on his face, I had a huge one on mine too, hey I have fun weather i win or lose.

Here is a write up of the car off of www.velocityjrnl.com -

The SC430 convertible is the long-awaited replacement for the SC300/SC400 coupes. The SC430 features a retractable hardtop similar to the Mercedes-Benz SLK. The well-equipped SC430 uses the same 300-bhp, 4.3L V-8 as in the GS430 sedan. Demand is so high that Lexus has pre-sold 7,000 of the 12,000 cars allotted for the US in 2001. MSRP is $58,455. The only options are a rear spoiler ($440), DVD navigation system ($2,000) and run-flat tires ($400). 18-inch wheels are standard. Claimed 0-60 mph is 5.9 seconds.

My $18,000 130 hp miata had no chance in hell, but just wait till that T3/T04E turbo is sittin pretty in the engine bay next spring!!
