97 prelude base v. 97 supra tt
dont see many supra's let alone tt's in ohio. so in my 97 base model lude, i pull up to a stop light on st. rt. 40 in columbus right next to this guy in a pristine 97 supra tt. talk to the guy for about minute and a half. find out his car is bone stock (as is mine for right now). and that its got about 30,000 miles on it (mines just over 100,000). so theres the setup...
the out come: the guy fuckin dusts me. im not gonna try to front and say my civic beat a beamer, or that my 85 accord beat some guys cobra. the guy killed me. it was one of my dreams in fact: to race a 2jz supra...the guy gives me about a quarter second head start (but not quite sure he might have been spinning?), and i hang around at about a carlength until about halfway through 2nd (not long AT ALL). stock 5th gen ludes are said to run around 15.2 quarters... have fun. |

AHAHAHA!
Not laughing at you, man... ...just amused at the candidness of your post. I was frankly scared to see what your post was about when I saw the title. Good post

Re: 97 prelude base v. 97 supra tt
thanks...i guess my real point now that i think about it is this: prelude's are tuned pretty wild from the factory and when you put one up against a supra or a Z car or a mercedes, etc...most of the time youre gonna get put in your place. ah ha...incentive...throw a couple hundred into it and next time you stick with him a little longer. either way at the end of the race, a thumbs up and head back to home or the shop to let the mad scientist rip apart the block again...ha ha, thanks guys...

its good to have deaths every once in a while. keeps people humble, and reminds them where they're placed. Add some mods, see if you can hang around longer before he passes
Good death

Ya, I mean there is no point to rilly even try to take a Supra TT. Even if you had a turbo kit on your lude and a 75 shot NO2. Still not even in the same league. Maby, and i stress maby, if you modified the suspension ALOT you could out handle him on a track. But that is still very unlikly.
I would have done the same thing myself. Just to see what happens. Maby he might mess up on sumptin and you could end up wining. But unlikly. Good death

Re: 97 prelude base v. 97 supra tt
There are 2 Supras here, one black TT and one blue single turbo, both live in the apartment complexes near mine. I'd only be wasting gas up against them =P Go F22B >=)

Re: 97 prelude base v. 97 supra tt
man when I read the post title, I was already reachin for the BS flag in my back pocket.
![]() Nice to see an honest post about gettin smoked. Most of those stories go unpublished cause people are afraid they'll get looked down on. I say, if ya get beat by a better car, there's no harm, just buy some more mods so it doesn't happen again... ![]() btw, nice death... |
