1996 Blazer keyless remote programming instructions

I need help. I have a 96 Blazer that came with 1 keyless entry remote, and I recently won another (identical) one off eBay. Now then... how do I program it? It included instructions, something about grounding terminal number 8 of the data link connector (DLC) under the left side of the instrument panel, but what does that mean and how do I do that?

Any help would be appreciated. I followed the instructions for the 98 Blazer, but to no avail. Someone please help, if possible. Thanks!

~Steve

Re: 1996 Blazer keyless remote programming instructions

I've been asking the same questions Steve and this is what I have came up with. You have to ground the connection as you stated and this should make the locks cycle(click). Try holding both remote buttions down for 15 seconds untill it clicks again. At that point it should be programmed so remove the wire and try it. I hope this works,
