Re: Vtec

yes it makes a difference, you have a totally different engine, instead of the SOHC you have the DOHC Vtec, and you also get 160hp, so your damn lucky, and i do wish i had your engine, i just have the EX, but i thought the vtec kicked in at 4500, thats what the honda dealer told me

Re: Vtec

In 95 there was no DOHC Vtec Si as far as I know 92-95 Ex/Si had the D16z6 125hp SOHC. In 96-00 Ex had the D16y8 127hp, and the Si had the 160hp DOHC B16. If i'm wrong on that i'm sure someone will say so, but to the best of my knowledge that is correct. Also unless your ECU was chiped to have the Vtec kick in at 4500 it should engage at 5500 from the factory.

Read that site more carefully it says:
1995 Honda Civic FWD/1.5L-I4 (70hp)

Wholesale
Retail

CX 2dr Hbk 4950
6800
DX 2dr Cpe 5225
7125
EX (1.6L-125hp) 4dr Sdn 6025
7900
LX 4dr Sdn 5375
7250
Si (1.6L-125hp/5sp) 2dr Cpe 6100
8000

Add:
ABS brakes 175 175

Alloy wheels 50 50

Cassette 25 25
SE (LX) 225 225

Deduct:
No air cond 400 400
Manual trans (LX,EX) 300 300

The 2 in bold are essentially the same car with different trim levels and minor things. You said yours is a Si so it is the 1.6L 125hp D16Z6.
If you want more info for aftermarket stuff just look around use the trim model (Si) and D16z6, you could also use SOHC Vtec to search by. Also try D-series.org, they have all sorts of info. To find out what motor you have (looking from your front bumper into the engine compartment) it should say on the motor to the right of the tranny. It will be stamped D16z6 with some #'s under it. here is a pic of what the casting stamp should say except mine saysD15b. It's prety much the same as yours but from Japan with 128hp and is SOHC Vtec. Here is a picture of the Full Motor with markings of where to look.

The Canadian Si trim is the US Ex trim. So, as previously started, your canadian Si Coupe has the same motor as a US Ex, D16Z6. It is essentually a US Ex trim coupe. The US 92-95 Si hatchback also shared the same motor as the Canadian Si and the US Ex.

Also, the exact cc of the motor are 1590.43cc. Also, since it wasn't listed, the rod/stroke ratio is 1.52, the bore is 75, and the stoke is 90. The head is 34.6cc.

I also noticed some mistakes on that site. The 90-91 and 92-93 Integra GS engines were called the B18A1. The site incorrectly called 90-91 GS engine B18B and 92-93 GS engine B18B1. These are both the B18A1. The B18B1 was found in the 94+ LS/RS/GS Integra.

I would think you'll enjoy it after a few months. It's your first few days driving you said, so your still just getting used to the whole thing. I know when I first learned to drive, I was like, Auto all the way. A stick seemed too much of a hassle. Once you settle down and get used to it, I would think you would enough going through the gears, and the control it gives. If you still can't stand a stick after a while, maybe your just an AT person. I've met a few, but most people love the control of a manual once they get used to it.
