Exclamation help!!! B16a block. GSR head????

I have a 89' crx si. It has a b16a bone stock. I was wondering if a obd1 gsr head will directly bolt on to the block? The reason I am asking is because I am getting a jrsc from a 95 gsr for very cheap. What would the compression be after instalation? Will it have any fitment problems? How good will this combination work? Some insights please.

Re: help!!! B16a block. GSR head????

yes it will fit, the Dome CC is smaller in the GSR than the B16a, and you need a GSR intake manifold ( or JRSC) to use.

so you might gain .5 of compression in swaping in head.

What gasket would I use? And would I have to use a gsr waterpump and timing belt?

Re: help!!! B16a block. GSR head????

are you doing this just to have low compression. why not do a gsr block with b16 head and keep the gsr pistons in it. the compression of that is like 9.6:1

Because the jrsc will not bolt up to a b16 head.

any Vtec water pump (b16a, b18c (same part#))
Timing belt you need a B16a belt
head gasket, is a B16a or GSR one, they are the same.
