New York City Cats
Jay-Z Vs. Nas
I dunno maybe DVS could help me out.... somebody told me that HOT97 in new york is doin the King of NY thing. and i wanna know what's goin down, i wish i could get that station some how Anybody into hip hop probably knows that these to have been exchangin disses with each other in songs. Jay-Z talks about f*ckin Nas's girl. and Nas has 2 diss songs on Jay-Z.. one is HOMO (h to the izzo, M to the izzo) and the other one is called Ether.... stillmatic IMO Nasir's the King of NY without a doubt, his illmatic album was off tha hook. It kinda revolutionized hip hop... i think he destroys Jay-Z I also hate Jay-Z so that might have somethin to do with it To me he just seems like another mainstream rapper who just tries to make tracks that'll sell... why'll nas is deep and does his own shit, weather people like it or not some shit i've heard people say: dj premier - "nas ate him" Mr Cee = Jay Z Fat Joe = Nas Tim Westwood = too scared to say.. even tho fat joe said he would walk him home... Bugsy = Nas Fat Man Scoop = jay z Big Dee = Nas Flex = Nas "Life's a bitch an then you die/ that's why we get high/ cause you never know/ when ya gunna go" "I woke up early on my born day I'm twenty years of blessing/ The essence of adolescent leaves my body now I'm fresh/ in My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it/ One quarter through life some God-ly like thing created/ Got rhymes 365 days annual plus some Load up the mic and bust one/ cuss while I puffs from my skull cause it's pain in my brain vein money maintain/ Don't go against the grain simple and plain/ When I was young at this I used to do my thing/ hard Robbin foreigners take they wallets they jewels and rip they green cards/ Dipped to the projects flashin my quick cash/ and got my first piece of ass smokin blunts with hash/ Now it's all about cash in abundance/ niggaz I used to run with is rich or doin years in the hundreds/ I switched my motto/ -- instead of sayin fuck tomorrow/ That buck that bought a bottle/ could've struck the lotto/ Once I stood on the block/ loose cracks produce stacks/ I cooked up and cut small pieces to get my loot back/ Time is Illmatic keep static like wool fabric Pack a four-matic that crack your whole cabbage "Condominium, thug dressed like a gentleman Tailor made ostrich, Chanel for my women friend Murderin, numbers on your head while I'm burglarin Shank is servin em, whassup to all my niggaz swervin in New York metropolis, the Bridge brings apocalypse Shoot at the clouds feels like, the holy beast is watchin us Mad man my sanity is goin like an hourglass Gun inside my bad hand I sliced tryin to bag grams" those are just some random quotes from songs.... they're kinda hard to make out, better to listen to Nas flow IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIP HOP THEN DON'T REPLY TO THIS THREAD, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR BAD OPINION ON IT IS

I was going to post a thread yesterday about this. Yesterday Jay-Z released a response to Nas's "Ether". All I have to say is, right now all of NYC is reeling from what Jay_Z said about Nas. Quite frankly, I didn't even believe how bad Jay ripped into him. Don't get me wrong, I like Nas, but Jay is just a better lyricist than he is. Yesterday, he proved that. If you haven't heard the response, you need to hear it. It is sick!!!!!!
And just in case, G$, even Hot 97 said the same thing, Jay-Z ripped him up. I'm just waiting to see if Nas will respond.:hehe:

I like both, but I think Jay-Z would be the one. I don't think Nas would claim that title anyway since BIG is gone. That simply being a matter of respect from his point of view.

I can't find an online broadcast of Hot97... they don't even have a website, it's like under construction or somethin Nas kills jay... his lyrical skills are so much better than jays, his illmatic album really revolutionized hip hop His best friend (Ill Will) was basically gunned down in front of him... and he's from queensbridge. I don't really know anything about Jay-Z but i doubt he's been through as much even 2pac took Nas back years ago..... like a week before pac died, him and pac had no beef, they made up. and pac was talkin bout how Nas is the illest rapper in NY. He was going to take the diss track off makevelli out but he died and didn't get the chance to, and they still put that track on the CD. It's actually 2pac sayin "Fuck Jay-Z" at the beginning of ether. (it's just a slowed down sample) I love that track "We will survive" when nas gives props to pac "Dear Pac/ Every thug sheds a teardrop/ And use to teeth to bite off beer tops/ And pour out a lil' liquor/ You was more than the wildest nigga/ 2Pacalypse, I understand your style nigga/ Its goin' on the 3rd year/ Since you've been gone/ On the East and West Coast the same shit is goin' on/ The industry be talkin'/ Offendin' me often/They don't beleive you dead/Wanna see you in your coffin/I pray late/Shootouts and court dates/All eyes on you/Niggaz in your face/Invadin' your space/ You asked if I could trade in your place/ How would I hold up/ How long would I ride, before I fold up?/ How did you know through your rhymes it was your time to go?/ You predicted it in every line/ All in your flow/ There could never be peace/ I have to quote/ Can't believe I heard my name on the relaest shit you ever wrote/ We had words/ Cause the best supposed to clash at the top/ But kept it brotherly/ When we seen each other and stopped/ In NYC, at MTV/ People watched/ We was both deep/ After you left, I got no sleep" that is one sick ass verse... Jay-Z couldn't come close I didn't like Nas last 2 albums much though... it's just illmatic, that album was amazing.... lets hope that wit the new album he's stillmatic ![]() Nas rips jay up like madd "eminem dissed you on your own shit, you a dick ridin faggot, you love the attention" "How much of Biggie's rhymes gone come out your fat lips" "Heard it when I was asleep, that this Gay-Z and Cock-a-fella records wanted beef" "H to the izzO, M to the izzO, fo shizzo, ma nizzo.. you fake rap version of sisqo" some more from ether: "Rockefeller got it, AIDS, that was the end of his chapter And that's the guy y'all chose to name your company after Put it togEther, I rock hoes, y'all rock fellas And now you trying to take my spot, fellas?" "My child, I watch you grow up to be famous And now I smile like a proud dad, watching his only son that made it You seem to be only concerned with dissing women Were you abused as a child? Scared to smile, they called you ugly Well, life is harsh, hug me, don't reject me Or make records to disrespect me, blatant or indirectly In '88, you was getting chased through your building Calling my crib, and I ain't even give you my numbers All I did was give you a style for you to run with Smiling in my face, glad to break bread with the god Wearing Jaz' chains, no tecs, no cash, no cars No jail, bars, Jigga, no pies, no cake Just Hawaiian shirts, hanging with little Chase You a fan, a phony, a fake, a pussy, a stan I'll still whip your ass, you 36 in a karate class You tae bo hoe, trying to work it out, you trying to get brolic Ask me if i'm tryin ta kick knowledge" LOL!!! I dunno how bad you can get ripped up but that is fuckin crazy..... i doubt Jay-Z can top that, since all jay-z talks about is how back in the day, like years ago he fucked Nas's ex-wife (before she got wit nas) He's got nothin.... Most big hip hop names say Nas too Jay-Z just tries to sell records, he really is a phony somebody tell me the track i wanna hear his come back

Gang$tarr, instead of running your mouth and expressing your opinion, listen to the track and then come back. I'm not going to bother debating with you till then.

i wasn't running my mouth?
most of that was just Nas quotes, of what he's said about Jayand how i feel about both rappers all around (not just the couple diss songs they have with each other) since the king of NY is more than just a couple songs.... it's the overall rapper and i could listen to jay-z's diss if you would tell me what it's called!! lol ![]() also is there any place i can listen to Hot97 online?

HOVA!!
NAS will NEVER be better than Jay-Z . . .
I've been following this from the beginning as a hardcore Jigga fan, and I tuned in to the radio last night. NAS has an ill flow, don't get me wrong . . . he just couldn't keep up with his fame . . . he has no focus, and lost his way due to the hype of being a rap star. "Ether" . . . is almost as deep as it is dirty, but you being the NAS fan (G$), I'll let you tell it . . . I missed the results of the poll on Hot 97.1 . . . I had an appointment to get my hair twisted . . . updates anyone? |

see i knew more people would like jay-z cause he's such a phony...... he just tries to satisfy the mainstream audience cause that's where he'll sell more records.. then he gets more fans, etc.
Jay-Z stole his style from Nas and Biggie he just goes where the money is.. and Nas is way more focused than Jay-Z..... he doesn't want to be the most popular mainstream rapper with record album sales. He just wants to do his own thing, he actually said he wants to move to africa, cause that's his motherland. and he's probably goin to move to africa not long from now... cause he doesn't care about popularity or anything like that I'm still just talkin about both overall rappers... i haven't listened to that jay-z song yet cause i don't think one song will change my opinion on a rapper I'm not sayin that Jay-Z is a horrible rapper, i'm just sayin that Nas's skills on the mic are a level above Nas is pretty much a legend... he's up with biggie and pac without his illmatic album hip hop would be different right now i'm gunna go try to find that jay-z song now
