Changing Trasmission Fluid on old car

I got this 1991 cavalier and has 155K miles on it, still running strong though. Never changed transmission fluid EVER on this car for over 155 K miles. Would it be a good idea to change the tranny fluid now?????

Re: Changing Trasmission Fluid on old car

IMHO if the transmission is working well and you wish to keep the vehicle operational for the foreseeable future I would go ahead and drop the pan inspect it carefully for any unusual material, replace the filter and as much of the old fluid as possible. This is one of the cheapest good things you can do for a reliable older vehicle.
