Focus Automatic door locks
I have a 2000 Focus and after getting in and starting to drive the car the doors automatically lock. Is there any way to defeat the feature.. I got locked out of the car twice and I had to have a locksmith come an open the door for $55.00 and once in another state if was $80.00 bucks. I now have a spare key under the car but I really would like to disable the auto lock feature.
Thanks.. Bobd |

Re: Focus Automatic door locks
it should say in the owners manual how to disable the autolocks. If not the dealer will do it, it takes more time to find it in the owners manual than it will to disable it with no real difficult stuff involved

i acctully don't think that feature is disable able, i know disableing any kind of beeping is possable by useing a method of starting hte car and in a certan amount of time locking and unlocking the seat belts. so there MAY be a way to disable that but i really REALLY doubt it.

Re: Focus Automatic door locks
I know once I am in the car and if I hit the unlock after it has locked then it stays unlocked until I restart the car. Maybe when you hear it lock just hit unlock each time
