Question lowering

Hey all I'm new here. I just bought my Accord about a week ago. It's a white 95 2 door LX in nearly mint condition. Anyway, the first thing I'm going to do is a get a new head unit and new speakers, cuz the current system is crap. Then I'm going to lower the car. I'm not sure what the best approach to this is so does anybody know any specific company I should buy springs from? Also, will I be able to install the springs myself or will I have to get them installed? What'sapproximate prices on the springs and the installation? Well, thats all for now. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Oh yea. Heres a pic. Sorry, it's a bad pic but it's better than nothing.

Well lowering your car the correct way should cost between $800-1200 depending on if you install it yourself or get somebody to do it.

You can get lowering springs and an aftermarket shock and depending how low you go you'll need camber kits.

Here is the average prices of the parts

Lowering springs $150-200
Coilovers sleeves $300-350
Shocks - KYB AGX $ 350
Koni Yellow $500-550
Apexi WS Full coilovers which includes spring and shocks $ 850
Camber kits $ 200-250
Installation of all parts including full alignment $ 225-250
Full alignment $ 40-50

Unhappy !!!!!!!!!

Damn I didn't know lowering cost that much. Even if I dont want to lower it a lot? What if I just want a modest lowering job. Also, from the prices you gave me elite, that well exceeds the 800 - 1200 range. Well, anyhow, I'm reconsidering lowering my ride.

You can lower your car properly for much lower than that. First, dont rush into anything, make sure you research off of interent sites. I got my brand new Eibach Pro Kit off of ebay for $190.....I wish I had waited a little longer, but I had to get it. Last time I checked out www.groupbuycenter.com, they had the pro kit with KYB AGX shocks (i got them) for $190 +shiiping, very cheap. Coils are good too, but more $, plus after a while, all the crap builds up in it, and you can barely adjust it. Weapon R is good for coils, along with Ground Control. For springs, Eibach, H&R,. I hope this helps. I was charged $250 to install everything, shocks/struts, and alignment.

Thanks blue. I'm confused though. Can somebody list each item you need to lower a car and give an approximate price of each? Thanks.

once you lower your car, you will eventually have to upgrade your shocks/struts......they will blow......so you might as well do it right away. Ok, I will list the spring setup 1st, the shock/strut doesnt matter, they are compatible with both.

spring
(4) lowering springs, depends on application how much it lowers
You do not need a camber correction kit if not dropped lower than 1.4
The eibach pro kit is popular for that

If you lower more than that and do not get a camber kit, you will ruin your front tires FAST(mine went in a month, down to the metal)

coils
usually adjustable from 0-4"
most likely need camber kit
easy to adjust at 1st

you will need 4 struts/4 shocks for your car. check out your applications at sites like tirerack.com, nopi.com, etc

well you definatley wanna make sure that you get an alignment right away, i waited three weeks to get an alignment, and my tires wore all the way to the metal. driving in the rain with tires down to the belts is scary. the money that was going toward my exhaust system ended up going toward new tires.
